Ms. Dorris at Northside had guest reader, Kathy Smith, visit her class and read different versions of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The kids were all ears, comparing and contrasting the tales. To wrap it up, the students went full-on author mode, crafting their very own version of the story!

Mrs. Hopper's A&P (for Health Science Careers ) class has been learning about the scientific method. The students had a fun and tasty experience performing a Skittles lab. Skittles in A&P you might ask? Why yes! Before we focus on body systems we learn about other parts of science. Students enjoyed sorting the Skittles, answering pre-lab questions, creating a hypothesis, and collecting data to figure out percentages.

During their recent field trip to the George Ranch, 7th grade students experienced multiple generations of Texas history. They were able to see real-life cowboys roping calves, walk inside Victorian mansions with guidance from reenactors, and see what life was like in an 1830s log cabin. The students' exemplary behavior was acknowledged by the Ranch Staff. They represented El Campo with distinction and took home unforgettable memories!
