During last night’s board meeting, we took a moment to celebrate several outstanding Ricebirds! We began by recognizing the seven dedicated volunteers who selflessly serve on the El Campo ISD Board of Trustees. Next, we acknowledged our Remarkable Ricebirds: Michelle Fernandez, the Elementary Parent Liaison; Nick Popp from El Campo Middle School; and BJ Swenson from El Campo High School. Finally, we concluded by honoring Trent Popp, who was named the 4A Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The Board discussed options for the 2026-2027 calendar and approved several agenda items.

ECISD Closed Monday, January 26th
The most up-to-date weather forecasts are predicting up to 1/2 inch of ice on Sunday that may linger into Monday morning. Temperatures will also hover between 21 degrees and 27 degrees through Monday noon. Based on this forecast and for the safety of students and staff, El Campo ISD will close school and all activities on Monday, January 26th.
Impending Inclement Weather - The National Weather Service has forecast a potential winter storm arriving in the Gulf Coast area early Sunday morning. We will monitor events throughout the weekend and will make a decision no later than 2 pm Sunday regarding school closure or a potential late start on Monday. Please stay safe and make sure your Skyward Family Access contact information is up to date. The district will utilize phone calls, email, and text to communicate with individuals, and we will also post information on our website (ecisd.org), the ECISD app, and through social media (X, Facebook, & Instagram).
