El Campo WIT (Workforce Industry Training) students started off the year with a trip to Texas State University-San Marcos. After touring the campus, students enjoyed an educational and FUN trip to The Meadow Center. Students enjoyed the glass bottom boats and a tour of Spring Lake wetlands. Students were able to participate in an environmental program where they got a concrete background in understanding the impact of exotic species on diverse ecosystems and endangered species, as well as the effect of pollution on a habitat. Students conducted macroinvertebrate testing at a location on Sink Creek which feeds into Spring Lake. HOSA would like to thank the City Development Corporation of El Campo, which recently sponsored 25 students to attend the Area 2 Fall Leadership Conference. Students were able to attend breakout sessions such as stress management, financial planning for college, NICU nursing, and Stop the Bleed just to name a few.
Our students also participated in the face painting and photo booth fundraisers for Be The Match. El Campo High School was recognized as the biggest contributor to these events.
