Technology Student Association (TSA)

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit organization of middle and high school students who are engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Since TSA was chartered in 1978, almost 5,000,000 student members have participated through challenging competitions, leadership opportunities, and community service.

Requirements for TSA

  • A desire to learn and help others with technology
  • An interest in technology, writing, science, math, or engineering
  • Ability to work with others and have fun!

What will we do in the Technology Student Association?

Visit Technology Student Association Website for basic information on the events you can enter. Some are individual events and others are team events. We can take as many as we want to regionals – the limits do not start applying until state. Pick a contest you will be motivated to complete and a team that will work well with you. We will have periodic checks of projects to make sure there isn’t anyone sitting on the sideline and not doing their part for the team. We will host fundraisers to help cover the costs of dues, materials, and travel for competitions.

Regionals are usually in February, with State competition normally in April, and National competition in June.

Community Service Projects:

Community is important, so we will have a couple of community service projects throughout the year. These events can be as simple as collecting clothes for Blessing Cup, to helping attack world hunger through freerice.com, to making and sending care packages to our troops. If you know of a need through Scouts, your Church, or a community center, please let me know.

Holly Guthrie, El Campo Middle School, is recognized as Middle School Advisor of the Year.
