Ms. Rojas' 1st Grade Bilingual class at Hutchins began Hispanic Heritage Month on September 16th by dressing in cultural clothing and watching a video.
Students then created flags representing their culture, detailing their favorite foods, music, clothing, and cultural aspects. They paired up to share their creations and learn about each other.
To continue the fun, they will also explore and celebrate notable Hispanic/Latino figures in history. See the fun here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGSWN5lZXc/3DD6m7UZlK2K0fsp9LTR-Q/watch?utm_content=DAGSWN5lZXc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor

Ms. Nafegar's 2nd grade class spent time learning about Ancient Greek Civilizations whose contributions can be seen in many areas of our lives today. Ms. Nafegar even dressed as a Greek Goddess to engage her students and get them excited about learning!
On the screen behind Ms. Nafegar, Pheidippides is beginning his run to Sparta to fight for the Athenian generals. The boys in the class are pretending to hold their spears since 7 year olds were of age to go to war. The girls in class were wiping their tears because they were sad that all the men and boys were leaving to go to war. These students are stretching their brains and learning so much this school year!

El Campo High School's awesome faculty threw a birthday bash for the fabulous August and September Birthdays, complete with cake and a feast from Father & Sons!

Mrs. Treme's Kindergarteners had some fun learning time with shaving cream for earning 10 tokens for great behavior! They wrote their name, numbers, letters, heart words, and drew some pictures.

Homecoming Fun at Myatt! Go Ricebirds!

Advanced floral design students spent the day delivering homecoming mums and garters to Life Skills students at Myatt, Hutchins, Northside, Middle School, and High School campuses. ECMS Alert: Late yesterday afternoon, students reacted quickly and responsibly reporting to middle school staff and administration about a disturbing picture. The middle school responded quickly and involved the campus SRO and the El Campo Police Department. The threat was determined to be a hoax by the police. We have taken deep precautions to ensure student safety. We take all threats seriously and act on all reports. Please help us by being proactive and reporting threats directly to the school via our tipline or calling the school district directly rather than posting to social media. Our tipline informs us immediately regardless of time day or night. Thank you for your support in ensuring student safety and protecting our schools. Our tip line is "Say Something" and is located at www.ecisd.org.

It was a Fun Neon Day for Homecoming Week!
At Hutchins, students and teachers were shining BRIGHT!
Meanwhile, at Northside, Mrs. Taylor’s 4th graders dove into a Homecoming Escape Room adventure! They read passages and tackled questions like pros to break free. And let me tell you, they had a blast glowing under those black lights!

Hey, ECMS!

200 first year floral design students in Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Zahn’s classes constructed a 19 foot mega mum in honor of homecoming week. A special thanks to the Ag Mech students for cutting the 4ft plywood circle to make the top, the Derby Dolls for the pom poms, and Mr. Jeff Balcar and crew for getting it hung in the gym and then moving it to the football field for the game. It truly was a team effort and we have the best RICEBIRD team! Come see it in person on Friday at the 8:30 am pep rally!
