The Varsity Ricebird Basketball Team finished 2nd place at the Schulenburg tournament!
Went 2-2 with wins over Schulenburg and Hempstead.
Mrs. Ener's class worked on developing their problem-solving and computational thinking skills alongside Mrs. Dollie Phillips at Myatt.

This is a friendly reminder! Students will be released at noon this Friday, December 20. They will then have Winter Break, from December 23 to January 7. Following the break, teachers will return to work on Monday, January 6 for convocation and January 7 for a workday. Students will jump back into the classrooms on Wednesday, January 8.

Ugly Sweater Day at ECMS!
Mr. Evin Johnson from Houston's Theatre Under The Stars spoke with ECMS Theatre Arts classes about training, auditioning, and his career as a professional actor. He shared his experiences of working for Disney and touring in musicals all over the United States and Europe. Mr. Johnson is currently playing the role of King Agnarr in Theatre Under The Stars' production of "Frozen" and is a former student of Mr. Hand at ECMS!

After learning about how Julius Caesar was one of Rome's most influential leaders, 3rd grade students explored his character to determine how he could have been viewed as both a hero and a traitor to Romans. They analyzed all of the information they learned to take a position and create a plan to debate their position. Ms. Stock's class presented their ideas on how he could be portrayed as a hero, while Ms. Molina's class presented their arguments as to why they believed he was a traitor. See them here:
