Hutchins Elementary Drop-Off & Pick-up Routes

Hutchins families, as we get ready for another great school year, please take a moment to review our updated drop-off and pick-up procedures. Following these routes will help us keep traffic moving efficiently and, most importantly, keep our students safe.

2nd & 3rd Grade

The route for 2nd and 3rd grade will remain the same as we ended last school year.

  • Line up on Ave. K extending toward Empire Street.

  • Take a right onto Empire Street.

  • Turn right onto Ave. I and enter the parking lot.

  • After drop-off or pick-up, vehicles will exit the parking lot and may only turn left onto Ave. I or go straight onto Roberts Street.

1st Grade & Sibling Riders

  • Line up on Ave. I heading north.

  • Turn left into the front parking lot for drop-off or pick-up.

  • After exiting the parking lot, drivers will turn left onto Roberts Street and must turn right onto Ave. I.

Please Note: Ave. I will be closed to through traffic during arrival (7:00–8:00 a.m.) and dismissal (3:15–4:00 p.m.) to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to provide a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process.

Groundbreaking for the Hutchins Elementary Addition

February 19th was a big day for Hutchins Elementary. Our school board, district leadership, staff, and community members came together to officially break ground on our new campus. It was a proud moment for everyone who believes in the future of our students and our town.

We were especially honored to have some of our first graders join us for the ceremony. These students will be Hutchins Ricebirds all the way through 5th grade, and they will be among the first to walk the halls of the new building. That’s a full-circle moment you can’t script any better.

We are grateful for the leadership and support that brought us to this point, and we look forward to sharing updates as construction moves forward.
