Mrs. Allen’s class has been working on painting rocks. The point of this rock painting activity is to sprinkle positivity around our community. The idea is to leave it somewhere for another person to find and enjoy.
As we all know, sometimes a simple message of love and compassion can spark joy and brighten someone's entire day. We will be leaving these rocks around town.
⭐If you find one we would love for you to send a picture of yourself with it to sallen@ricebirds.net.

We're honored to announce that Myatt Elementary has been recognized as a Capturing Kids' Heart National Showcase School!
Awardees demonstrate a high level of performance and a positive culture and climate for learning. Myatt is one of 612 schools to receive this award.
Kudos to our amazing teachers and students for creating a school culture that rocks! #ckh

We want to wish all of the Ricebird Principals a happy #SchoolPrincipalDay! Thank you for your leadership and commitment to students and staff.

Look at this Kindergarten GT class working on their Texas Performance Standards Project "Do Your Part for Art!": studying the basic elements of art, artistic styles, and focusing on famous artists.
They have been learning about Picasso, Monet, and Pollock and their styles of art. The students had a blast mimicking the Impressionism of Monet and the Abstract "Drip/Action" art of Pollock! They also had some free creative time to try out other artistic tools and styles.
Later in May, these students will help set up their own art 'exhibit' to show off to their parents and to explain the elements used in their various artworks.
