Hutchins Open House - Thursday, October 10th, 5:30-6:30. Hutchins Parents - Come see what your child has been learning! We know our students are looking forward to the opportunity to show off their classroom! Students who attend will receive a Snack Pass for the cafeteria and a Free Dress Pass! The front doors and the side doors along Ave I will be open from 5:30-6:30 for this COME & GO event. Hutchins t-shirts will be sold while supplies last.

Ms. Rojas' 1st Grade Bilingual class at Hutchins began Hispanic Heritage Month on September 16th by dressing in cultural clothing and watching a video.
Students then created flags representing their culture, detailing their favorite foods, music, clothing, and cultural aspects. They paired up to share their creations and learn about each other.

Ms. Nafegar's 2nd grade class spent time learning about Ancient Greek Civilizations whose contributions can be seen in many areas of our lives today. Ms. Nafegar even dressed as a Greek Goddess to engage her students and get them excited about learning!
On the screen behind Ms. Nafegar, Pheidippides is beginning his run to Sparta to fight for the Athenian generals. The boys in the class are pretending to hold their spears since 7 year olds were of age to go to war. The girls in class were wiping their tears because they were sad that all the men and boys were leaving to go to war. These students are stretching their brains and learning so much this school year!

Advanced floral design students spent the day delivering homecoming mums and garters to Life Skills students at Myatt, Hutchins, Northside, Middle School, and High School campuses. Making the projects is always fun, but delivering them is even better! It was a joyful day for everyone involved!
