The Derby Dolls had a visitor at the Bay City game. This is Kay Joslin Walling, the first ever Derby Doll Captain. It was such a special opportunity to visit with her and hear stories about the first line and how some of the traditions began that we still take part in today. Mrs. Walling teaches English and Theater in El Paso ISD.
The ECHS STARS competed at the CC Carroll High School TFA Tournament in Corpus Christi this past weekend.
Hannah Purnell was a semi finalist in Prose, Christopher Luera placed 4th in Congress, and Julisa Padron placed 6th in Novice Poetry.

Mrs. Hopper’s Health Science classes investigated “medical myths”. The students picked the myth topic from the list, researched their topic, then wrote their myths and supporting facts on their tombstones. They decorated their tombstones and “laid them to rest” in the medical myth graveyard.

HOSA attended the Fall Leadership Conference this past weekend where they attended breakout sessions with topics including pediatrics, medical school, cardiology, emergency preparedness, personality traits, billing and coding, simulation labs, and several did blood typing with MD Anderson. The day ended with a carnival and everyone's favorite was the life-sized operation board.
