Bird Fridays are in full swing at ECHS! Wenglar and Hlavaty's classes have enjoyed challenging the 'Birds with various STEM activities over the last few weeks. They have seen who can build the tallest PlayDoh tower, the tallest house of cards, and the strongest, furthest flying airplanes. ECHS STEP II will be holding a plant sale on Friday, Feb. 23, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Location: ECHS bus ramp on Ave F
Plants for sale will be petunias, calendula, alyssum, verbena, salvia, and herb boxes containing basil, thyme, rosemary, chives, and parsley.

Recently, the Technology Student Association competed at the regional contest in Katy. TSA Sponsor, Mrs. Guthrie, sends out a big thank you to all those who worked hard and participated in the events.
Congratulations to the Biotechnology Team of Alyx Fisher and Freya White for placing in the Top Ten, to the Problem Solving team of Eliska Shumbera and Michelle Villanueva for placing 5th, and to Eliska Shumbera who also placed 5th in Transportation Modeling.
Congratulations to Estrella Brito for placing 3rd in Transportation Modeling and advancing to the state competition being held in Fort Worth in April!


🎉 Congratulations to Summer Guthrie on rocking the Special Olympics Winter Games Fundamentals Sports in Bee Cave, Texas, last weekend!

⭐TICKETS are on sale now from February 20-March 6 for parents to trade in their two standing room only tickets for two $5 table seats which are closer to the action. The table seats are the Junior class fundraiser for prom.
Table seats will be sold until March 6. All other tickets to the prom that are given to students attending prom are standing room only.
No tickets will be sold at the door.

Attention El Campo High School Students: The team from SSR Letter Jackets will be on campus on Thursday, February 29th from 11:15 – 12:50 at the El Campo High School Cafeteria to measure for letter jackets, and to take up order forms and payments. All directions on how to order your jacket are in your packet. Please pick up a packet from your Coach, Sponsor, or Director if you have not already done so. Thanks and see you at the fitting.

The Ricebird Men’s Golf Team placed 3rd at the Colony Creek Regional Preview. Leading the team were James Dorotik with an 81, Ty Ener and Trace Matthews with 82’s, Carter Arrambide 90 and Kayden Zajicek 97.
The team is coached by Steve Smith.

What a productive day of professional development at the high school! Among other things, they celebrated good things and worked on Critical Writing/Write A Little A Lot.





February is heart health awareness month. HOSA enjoyed hosting their annual blood pressure screening for the High School campus. Teachers and students were educated on heart health and healthy blood pressure ranges.

Round 1 of Derby Doll competition is complete! All the hard work and dedication to make the day so memorable and successful paid off! Over 1,000 dancers attended this comp and the girls were up against some amazing talent but they held their own!
