During last night’s board meeting, we took a moment to celebrate several outstanding Ricebirds! We began by recognizing the seven dedicated volunteers who selflessly serve on the El Campo ISD Board of Trustees. Next, we acknowledged our Remarkable Ricebirds: Michelle Fernandez, the Elementary Parent Liaison; Nick Popp from El Campo Middle School; and BJ Swenson from El Campo High School. Finally, we concluded by honoring Trent Popp, who was named the 4A Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The Board discussed options for the 2026-2027 calendar and approved several agenda items.

We will monitor events throughout the weekend and will make a decision no later than 2 pm Sunday regarding school closure or a potential late start on Monday. 1. 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 - Applicants must have at least a High School diploma or G.E.D. and must be able to attend a training session on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. There is no fee for the training session.
