The board began by celebrating the outstanding achievements of ECISD students and staff:
Top Honors: Recognition of the El Campo High School Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
State Qualifiers: Recognition of students qualifying for State in HOSA, FCCLA, FFA, and TSA.
Service Milestone: A special recognition for Anthony Dorotik for his years of service to the district as a trustee.
Board Governance & Reorganization
Following the recent elections, the board underwent procedural transitions. Newly elected trustees Susan Nohavitza and Brian Moreno were officially sworn in, and the board considered reorganizing leadership positions. James Russell returns as president, James Cannell was voted vice president, and Susan Nohavitza returns as secretary.
Key Action Items
The board discussed and took action on several items vital to the 2026-2027 school year:
Safety & Health: Approval of a Sports Medicine Agreement with Memorial Hermann Health System and a facility services agreement with TASB.
Education Partnerships: Approved an MOU with Region III for a Math Instructional Framework and the 2026-2027 WCJJAEP agreement.
Community: Consideration of an entity resolution for exempt status for the Egypt Plantation Museum.
