The El Campo ISD Board of Trustees met for its regular monthly meeting on February 25, 2026, to address a packed agenda that ranged from academic calendars to major construction updates and student recognitions. Prior to the meeting, there was a Public Meeting on the District Annual Report.
Celebrating Excellence in Athletics and Arts
The evening began on a high note as the Board recognized several students for outstanding achievements. Highlights included:
Athletics: Celebration of the Swim and Dive State Qualifiers.
Fine Arts: Honor given to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Winners from El Campo High School.
Key Board Actions
The Trustees moved through a consent agenda, notably approving a 3-year contract for Skyward Software as a Service (SaaS) and an annual contract with Capturing Kids' Hearts. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was approved between ECISD and the Boys & Girls Club of El Campo, reinforcing the district's commitment to community partnerships.
In discussion and action items, the Board officially approved the 2026-2027 School Calendar. They also passed a resolution to ensure employees are paid for the January 26, 2026, weather closure, which was designated as an "Act of God."
Governance and Operations
With the upcoming May 2, 2026, Board Election featuring only unopposed candidates, the Board took the necessary legal steps to declare those candidates elected and cancel the May election, saving the district administrative costs.
