El Campo ISD officially broke ground on Thursday, February 19, 2026, on a significant expansion at Hutchins Elementary, marking the start of construction on the new addition. This vital project, funded by the successful Bond 2025 referendum, will replace outdated classrooms and provide modern facilities that enhance our Ricebirds' learning environment.
District leadership, Board Members, faculty, and community stakeholders gathered to commemorate this milestone, a crucial investment in El Campo's educational infrastructure. The new addition is anticipated to be completed by August 2027.
