EL CAMPO, Texas — Voters approved the $80.9 million El Campo ISD bond proposition on May 3, 2025.
Preliminary results, which will become official on May 14 when the El Campo ISD Board of Trustees canvases the votes, show that 69% of voters favored the proposition.
“I would like to thank our community for taking action, getting out to the polls, and expressing their support for the students and staff of El Campo ISD,” Superintendent Bob Callaghan said. “This is an important time in our community. Thanks to the voter-approved bond, we now begin the work of addressing our schools’ critical facility needs.”
Following this voter approval, ECISD will begin plans to utilize the 2025 bond funds to add a 2-grade replacement wing at Hutchins, and begin a combination of new construction and renovations at the high school.
The next steps will begin with coordinating with an architectural firm and construction-manager at-risk to conduct a competitive bidding process for each project, as well as finalizing a construction schedule. In addition, we will work with the district’s financial advisors to establish a bond program schedule.
“We are grateful to our community for their confidence and all of the support they provide to our schools, our students, and staff,” said Callaghan. “This is a great moment for El Campo. I look forward to the future this bond will provide. Words cannot express the pride I feel to serve the students, staff, and community. The district owes the community a great big THANK YOU!”
